Back to School Giveaway | Musings of a Modern Hippie

It’s that time of year again! Back to school! For us, it’s just the beginning, as my little one starts Kindergarten. How many kids are you sending to school this year? Maybe you homeschool? Or maybe kids are not in the picture at this point in your life! No matter your situation, this 2-item giveaway is for you!

I’m giving away 2 of my new favorite things!

Back to School Giveaway | Musings of a Modern Hippie

The first is Hydracentials’ awesome sporty 25 oz Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle with Flip Cap and Straw. If you ready my previous review, you know how thrilled I am to be able to give this bottle away to one of my lucky readers.

Here are a few reasons why I love this bottle so much:

The spout is easy to open one-handed.

There is a sturdy loop that would attach nicely to a backpack or bag with a carabiner (not included).
The spout is leak-proof!
It’s double-walled stainless steel (keeps liquids cold for well over 8 hours).

Check out more reasons {here}.
Whether you send this bottle to school with the kid(s) or keep it for yourself, it’s an awesome bottle!

The second awesome item I’m giving away is one pound of Organic, Unrefined, Raw Shea Butter from Beauty by Shea.

True unrefined, organic, raw, shea butter is often hard to find, as many manufacturers either contaminate it with other oils and dyes, or it’s not in fact, shea butter at all, but a similar, less expensive product called Kpangnan Butter (pronounced “painya”).
Real Shea butter is an off- white or ivory-colored fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa).
Kpangnan Butter is yellow in color and comes from the African Butter Tree (Pentadesma butyracea). It can be refined, bleached, and deodorized to resemble shea butter, and has similar fat properties, making it still good for skin, but not as good as shea.

I love this shea butter and can say that it is absolutely wonderful. I’ve used it straight as a moisturizer on my hands, as a body lotion after showering, to clear up a family member’s eczema, and as a soothing after shave for my husband. I also applied it to my hair on the ends for a super moisturizing hair treatment, and used it as a natural sunscreen.
I made a homemade body lotion using this shea butter as a base and it came out perfectly {Recipe here}.

This will be great for treating dry hands when kids come home after a day of handwashing with harsh school soaps or drying alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
